Gift Registry

I picked up ten items off her gift registry for the "Get to Know the Couple" Game. I got free shipping and an additional 15% off! Yay!

Pics, Pics, and More Pics!

Okay ladies, please don't think I have forgotten about this bridal shower. It seems lately that I have been going, going, going and my body hasn't really wanted to do anything. I'm finally really starting to feel normal again.

First off, thanks to Robin's generous grandma for giving us an in on the Quail Lake Club house. I know I showed some of you the pics at the dress fitting but here they are again.

This is the main room where we will have the actual shower.
There are small rooms off of the main room.
A kitchen!
Chairs! I'm pretty sure I counted 52 chairs in the picture.
Tables! I also have a table that I will bring. :)
Another room off the main room. Possibly use these tables also?

Robin also drew a map. Thank you Robin for the map and the pics.

Now on to Table decor.
I like the look of the flowers in the pots. I did pick up 5 pots at the Goodwill the other day. They are various shades of pink. I will probably spray paint them.
Does anyone have any platters like this? I think Robin and Angelic mentioned they might. I think the sandwiches would be nice to stack on these style plates.
Along with the flowers on the tables I would like to do some of these candles. Not sure what the policy is on burning candles inside. But I can always grab some of the flameless type. Simple paper or fabric wrapped around glass votive holders. I plan to bring my drinking glasses. I have 12 short and 12 tall glasses-wrapped in fabric or paper you'll never know that they are glasses.
I love the presentation of this table. Rosie requested Mimosa's. Check out the table in the rear with the drinks all laid out. Maybe we can pull this off with the mimosa's? My husband is CHP so I don't want to send anyone home drunk but a small glass at the beginning of the party shouldn't be a big deal right? I also like the silverware wrapped in the napkins.
Not sure about favors. Here is where I'm at a loss. I did see these little guys. Personally, I like favors I can eat. Let me know your thoughts.
For table linens.....I saw this place mat. Not imagine it in table cloth form instead. On Friday, I'm heading to a fabric store that sells fabric for a dollar a yard! Hoping to score a white fabric that I can then decorate with flowers.
And I love these poms. I don't think we can hang them but maybe some medium/mini ones around the gift table or scattered around the room. If I'm really ambitous I plan to make the small ones for the napkins.
So for colors I would like to go with something springy: pink, orange, yellow, green. Sorry about throwing you off colorwise with the invitation. I think it was raining and grey out when I made them. I was just drawn to those colors for some reason.

For games....I would like to play a game where we get to know a bit about how Rosie and Matt got together and such. How it works: I get a set number of questions to attached to wrapped presents from her Registry. The guests actually ask Rosie the question. If she answers correctly she gets the present. If not the guest can keep the present. Usually the guests give the present to the bride but there have been a few that have held on to them. Hahaha.

Aside from that one not sure. I know she said not a lot of games. The one above can take up a good chunk of time.

I would also like to have pictures of Rosie and Matt scattered throughout the room. I will steal them from her facebook page and get them printed. If everyone could help by brining picture frames to put them in I would love you forever. I don't want to buy a ton of frames.

In the bathroom I would like to have fresh flowers, maybe a candle burning, and a pic of Rosie and Matt.

For silverware and such, I think clear plastic plates and silverware will be fine.

Now for the actual tea party part: How to serve hot tea? To be honest I don't drink tea or alcohol so I'll need help in this area. I think Robin said she had a big drink dispenser which would be great for serving water flavored with cucumbers, lime and mint. But I'm still stuck on the hot tea and possibly coffee? I have 8 teacups and saucers but I'm also willing to rent them. I did find clear cups and saucers for 40 cents a cup/rental.

This is what I have so far. Let me know what I'm forgetting or if what you might have at home that you can help with. I will also need help that morning with making Tea sandwiches and set up. I'll get a menu together next week. I'm hosting a birthday party for a friend tomorrow so I'm in full party mode right now. Thanks a bunch!

Decor stuff

Here are a few things that I have started gathering to use for the shower.

I think these would look nice on the food table.
Also, Angelic is making lots of individual cakes that she is going to put on a three tier platter. I have this large silver platter than can be used to serve sandwiches or something else.

Venue

Okay, I'm having a problem. The Fresno Breakfast house is going to cost at least 7.95 per person before tax and gratuity. If all 65 people show up I just can't afford it. I would really like to find a place where we can host it and serve the teas, tea sandwiches, small salads, cake and a few other small finger-food type sweets. The other problem is that it is November so you can't really host something outside. Robin is checking into a few places for us. Another thought was possibly if someone had a church where we could host but of course it is a Sunday and most churches might frown on having a party on Sunday.

The next suggestion is to break the guest list up into smaller groups and have multiple showers at personal clubhouses or peoples homes: work friends, college friends, etc. My personal budget for the shower is 400 tops. My sister is a great haggler so she is working on a few places for me also.

Okay venting done. Thanks. :)

Thank you!

Thank you for the feedback ladies! I love it. Johnelle, so sneaky to take her to breakfast there and find out what she thought. I'm keeping it on the list. The price seems pretty good too! I just need to find out if we can maybe bring in our own desserts and food also to compliment the menu and make it more high tea-ish. I love food! Rosie is half English so we gotta do it up at least half right. :)

Also, you should be able to leave comments now in the comment section but let me know. Of course, email has been working great. I can make it so that when someone leaves a comment you get it directly to your email box. Let me know if this is something you would like and I'll add you.
